Tales of the World Episode 12

Surprise! It’s the one with elections… again, as there are so many of them going around the world at the moment.

Tales of the world episode 11

The one with sexy women and presidential elections in France, Russia and the US.

Talk about the location of politics! In France, the cynical publicity machine, in Russia, the bare necessities, other than vodka, and in America…politically bare.

Tales of the world episode 10

This is episode 10 and deserves a celebration! There we go…tweet tweet.

The one with the international tales and Twitter.

Enjoy and don’t hesitate to retweet!

Tales of the World Episode 9

The one with the bittersweet twist on the United Nations (UN).

Even if the organisation is going through a rather rough patch, there are reasons to keep faith in the service it can bring to humanity.

Let us not despair, but celebrate the fact that the UN keeps our memory alive.

Tales of the world episode 8

“Tout va très bien, madame la marquise…” – “Everything is very well marquess”, is the title of a funny French song telling the story of spiraling disaster in a noble household…which concludes that even if everything is ruined, the house is on fire and the family bankrupt, things are alright…

It inspired this week’s podcast on the United Nations (UN), which seems to have gone from bad to worse, whilst everyone around pretends it’s still alive and kicking.

This podcast is the first in a series of musings on what the international means for us today.

Enjoy, Ruxandra

Tales of the World episode 7

The one with Joan of Arc and the Russian elections.

Featuring music by the Russian punk group Pussy Riot and some tried and tested Russia – related tunes (you’ll recognise them).

Tales of the world episode 6

Musings on current affairs. Is one story more telling than many?

The Tales of the World invites you to reflect on what makes the news of our lives. Enjoy!

Tales of the world episode 5

The one with the Arabian Nights and the Arab Spring.

What do the stories of the Arabian Nights and the Arab Spring have in common? They are the voices of the people recounting itself. They talk about the freedom to dream and live extraordinary lives. Sheherezade is every modern Arab woman daring to speak for herself.
